HAUS CUMBERLAND | Opening in 2013

Upmarket residential and office space on the Ku’damm

Haus Cumberland was designed by Robert Leibniz and built in 1911/1912. It is the last fully preserved example of a genuine “grand hotel”. It has been used as a boarding house, a luxury hotel, a ministry, a postal department and a Department of Inland Revenue, but has been largely unoccupied since 1996. The investors aim to change only what is necessary. The new design will include a restaurant, four top international brand shops, and up to ten offices. 180 apartments and 20 penthouses will be built around the courtyards.

NEUES KUDAMM KARREE | Opening in 2015

How Sir David Chipperfield is planning the Ku’damm

The renowned British architect, Sir David Chipperfield, is creating an attractive and lively public space around Uhlandstrasse. The new Ku’damm Karree will be regenerated by a pedestrian passage linking the Ku’damm and Uhlandstrasse. The shop-lined passage will lead to a green space on what is currently a car park. This will be a very pleasant place to stroll and sit.
