For its 125th anniversary, the Kurfürstendamm will present its own history in its unique display cases. The pavement will become part of the exhibition route and the boulevard will be transformed into an open-air museum – outdoors and free of charge!
The past, present and future of the street will be exhibited in the display cases in the form of brief accounts about its residents, buildings, shops, establishments, attractions, myths, attractions, plans and aspirations.
A guide to the display cases will direct passers-by around the boulevard as if they were on a treasure hunt. The exhibits will blend in with the goods for sale, making window-shopping, a visit to an exhibition, browsing and an educational experience a one-of-a-kind event.
The exhibition will be rounded off by a temporary café on the Kurfürstendamm where it meets Uhlandstraße. This will be a place where visitors can relax and read the exhibition material to find out more about the history of the Kurfürstendamm.
